New Smyrna Beach is one of the best beaches in Florida – the fact that’s it is wide, flat and clean makes it ideal for all kinds of beach related activities. There are NO CARS on our stretch of beach so it’s quieter and safer for families with kids. Our complex is directly on the Atlantic – a superb oceanfront location. You can literally stroll for miles in either direction - north towards downtown or south towards Bethune Beach and the Canaveral National Seashore.

Cycling is particularly popular as it’s easy going on the hard, flat sand. Bikes can be rented locally and bike racks are available on property. It’s a great way for kids to learn to ride because if they fall off it’s a soft landing! Surfer dudes (or dudettes) will love our location – recognized as one of the best surf hotspots on the east coast, Ponce Inlet is a 10 minute drive away and there’s always a good selection of waves to ride right out front. Boogie boards are another great way to enjoy the waves and can be bought or rented locally.

Cool ocean breeze are just perfect in summer and that also means that wind powered fun is available for the whole family. Kite flying is a great way to spend an hour or two – soar with the pelicans with very little effort involved! Wind surfing for the more adventurous is particularly good and the latest craze to hit the beach is kite surfing, truly a sight to see!

In the summer months a lifeguard station is usually situated right in front of Hacienda del Sol 2 so there’s often an extra pair of eyes making sure all is well. The beach has little to no slope so having a stroll in the surf or exploring tide pools with kids is easy to do. Sea shell collectors can ‘stoop’ their way along the shore and nature buffs can keep an eye on the turtle nests that in season are everywhere. There’s no bigger thrill than watching those little guys head down to the sea for the very first time!
